Thought For the Day

      Invictus

William Ernest Henley

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Thought For The Day

"You can have power over people as long as you don't take everything away from them. But when you've robbed a man of everything, he's no longer in your power."

Thought For The Day

Do you love life?
Then do not squander time,
for that is the stuff life is made of.

Thought For The Day

Life's challenges are not supposed to paralyze you, they're supposed to help you discover who you are.

Thought For The Day

Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence.
~ Paul Simon ~

Thought For The Day

... doors close in our universe and they sometimes slam shut, but as they do there is always a window that opens..the splendor and magic of life is in looking out the open window not listening to the reverberations of the closed slammed door.... fsm
